For the first 10 years of ClearCorrect’s history, it was a small, self-funded startup business. Money was always tight, and it never quite felt like the company’s continued existence was assured.
So, when the company turned ten years old, it felt like a proper milestone, and to help celebrate it, we created a video as a statement of who we were, what we’d accomplished, and what we still had to look forward to.
ClearCorrect at the time was built on being a down-to-earth, simple business, and we wanted this video to reinforce that image as we put our story out to a wider audience.

Resources were scarce back those days, and the team was lean. I filmed the entire project on a pair of entry-level DSLR cameras, prepared interview questions, selected and dressed the locations myself, and helped create props and scenes for the celebrations in the film.
The video was completed in time for ClearCorrect to officially celebrate its 10-year anniversary in November of 2016. Around the same time, the executive management team began looking to sell to larger dental corporations, and rolled this video into their presentations. The following summer, the acquisition of ClearCorrect by Straumann Group was finalized, and, I was later told, the video was instrumental in telling our company's story in a compelling way.
Personally, even though by this point I'd already been with the company for nearly six years, I learned a great deal about the vision, the mission, the culture, and leadership through this project. Taking time to interview leaders of a company can serve to crystalize so many things about a young company: its history, its vision, and its culture—all of which are indispensable in the long term. Parts of this video, including various clips and quotes from the extended interviews, were used to create "deep-dive" pieces about our company's culture and processes which served us well for the next two years.
